Acland carved this small piece of slate while on holiday in Cornwall. He gave it as a present to Jim Ede, who wrote of it: “Acland was a sports fiend and may quite subconsciously have thought of the Olympic Games sign. If you hold it in your hands, or pull gently or twist, it seems to move.”
