Tam MacPhail

Born 1938 – Died 2020

MacPhail was born in California and moved to Scotland, where he met his wife, the Swedish photographer Gunnie Moberg. During this time, MacPhail created a series of geometric and kinetic metal sculptures, exhibiting his work at venues such as the Richard Demarco Gallery. In 1976 the pair moved to Stromness, Orkney, where MacPhail ran the local bookshop.
