Edmond Xavier Kapp

Born 1890 – Died 1978

Kapp was a Cambridge-educated portrait artist and caricaturist. During the Second World War he served on the Western Front and was an official war artist (1940–41). In 1946–47 he was artist to UNESCO. He is the only painter to have had Picasso sit for a portrait.
